Blue on Blue 2

John Birch was born in Somerset and studied at the West of England College of Art in Bristol (now part of the University of the West of England) where he obtained a BA(Hons) Fine Art. After graduating he remained in Bristol and continued to paint and had solo shows at the Axis Gallery and at the Bristol Arts Centre. He also took part in several group exhibitions at the Arnolfini Gallery, Bristol and the Ikon Gallery, Birmingham. He then spent the rest of his career as a graphic designer but returned to painting again after moving to Portscatho, Cornwall in 2013. He has exhibited at both St Ives Society of Artists and the Penwith Gallery and other Cornish galleries. He is a member of the NAPA - the National Acrylic Painter’s Association and an associate member of the Penwith Gallery. He is a gallery artist at the New Gallery in Portscatho where his work is continuously on show. Works are in the Arnolfini Gallery collection and private collections.
