Jordan Eastwood is a self taught artist, based on the edge of Dartmoor in Devon, specialising in pastel paintings and sculpture, which he uses together in his installations. Eastwood's work balances merging realism with expression, often slightly exaggerating anatomy or using heavy chiaroscuro to communicate emotions. Eastwood is heavily inspired by mental health issues, having personally struggled with them throughout his life and is invested in furthering the conversation surrounding these topics, aiming to destigmatise, normalise and better communicate them. His most recent works are his stone carvings, painstakingly done in local 'Devon Stone' slate which is excavated from right outside his studio. These explore the theme of isolation born from the weight of mental health struggles, balancing human connection and exposure with a desire to persevere.
