I’m based on the eastern edge of Bodmin Moor, and have always live in the same area around the river Lyhner valley. My route into creating art came about through working in construction for several years, and having some rare opportunities to experiment with ornamental leadwork. The trade of leadwork often involves a large amount of attention to the paid to the aesthetics as well as the functionality. I have always particularly enjoyed joining symmetry, curves & reoccurring patterns - and often given free reign by the customer to experiment with the overall look of the workpiece. I have been involved with restoration and replication of some interesting historic lead ornaments such as statues, sculptures and garden ornaments. This made me more interested in creating my own sculptures to be able to express my own ideas of patterns and shapes into something equally as durable and timeless as the items I have worked on in the past.
