I have a background in Fine Art and Set Design for TV and film - mainly working in London. I later studied Illustration and Animation for an MA, worked as a Graphic Artist and Art teacher and then returned to the West Country near where I grew up. Reconnecting to Fine Art, I paint nowadays with a loose gestural painterly style. I am most interested in mark making producing meaning and using a wandering scribbley line experimenting with expressing volumes and movement. But engendered by my Set Design experience and a spell working in Barcelona, I paint the urban scene mostly, the serial vision of street spaces and intricate jumble of street furniture, and buildings.
