The Artist - Edward KingEdward King is a Plymouth based ceramic artist working in stoneware clay. He is known for his use of unusual glazing techniques, combining raw materials such as sand and slate into reactive and glossy glazes. Having travelled extensively across the Caucasus and Eastern Europe, Edward is fascinated by abandoned spaces, brutalism and Soviet architecture. More specifically, how we engage with structures that no longer serve a social or political purpose. Edward started working with clay in 2019 and has since gone on to exhibit at London Design week 2023, Art in Clay Farnham, Hever Castle in Kent and Celebrating Ceramics in Oxford. His work is held in private collections across Europe and the UK as participated in Channel 4’s Pottery Throw Down in 2024. | |
