Penny O’Brien is a ceramic artist based on Dartmoor, inspired by its rugged landscapes and ancient woodlands. Her sculptures explore the hidden networks that connect and sustain life, such as mycelium and lichens. These natural systems inspire the organic forms and textures of her work, reflecting themes of connection, resilience, and the delicate balance of the environment. Currently studying for an MA in Ceramics at Arts University Plymouth, Penny creates pieces that invite viewers to reflect on our place within these interconnected systems and the fragile yet powerful relationships that shape the natural world.
